Sandra Taylor Obituary – The Daily Ardmoreite
Sandra Taylor, of Ardmore, OK, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2022. She was 83 years old. Sandra was born in Oklahoma City on May 6, 1938 to the late James and Delma (Bartlett) Garrigan.
Sandra was brought up under the influence of her parents’ art and music performing in the early 30’s during the big band era. Early in Sandra’s life, she was an avid artist and exhibited her oil paintings in galleries and exhibitions throughout the North and East Texas area. She also studied art history and eventually taught art for several years at Tyler. When she was not painting, she was playing tennis or organizing tournaments. After moving to Ardmore, her passion turned to genealogy where she spent years researching her own family history while helping many others with theirs. She taught herself to code websites and designed and managed various family lists.
Sandra had a great sense of humor and also enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 40 years, Coy D. Taylor; two stepsons Darvis and Drake Taylor; son David Krauskopf and wife Karen; his daughter Kelly Krauskopf; sisters, Judy Guiterrez and Jill Evans; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14 in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sandra’s honor to Cross Timbers Hospice, Ardmore, OK.
